About

Preventing, Restoring, Building, Uniting, Sustaining. As we grow, we learn and we act to empower those we work with in Thailand and Burma.

Openaid started in Melbourne, Australia, founded by our Executive Director Justin Whitecross in 2002. Openaid envisions a community of people creating responses to both reduce the poverty and exploitation of girls from poor families, and to lessen the long term damage to trafficked and abused girls.

Want information?

What do you do when you want something from Openaid?

You’ll need to speak with the right person. Especially in the early stages of your search, there’s nothing more important than speaking with the person who can best help you.

Preethi Vergis, Assistant Director, is amazing and absolutely capable of walking with you through most questions. She will give you advice and terrific support.

A couple of pointers

When you want information - maybe you’re searching for specific project details, sponsorship options, inspirational project stories, or job opportunities - be specific about what you want and and we’ll sort it out.

We carefully follow policies and procedures so whatever you’re chasing will be handled carefully - we pride ourselves on accountable information management and the best relationships and effort.

Weekly meetings with team members allow up-to-date information sharing and views and input. So when Preethi responds to requests she has a fantastic view of work underway and program movements.

People at Openaid, like our donors and supporters, want the organisation to achieve fantastic results and never lose it’s distinctive qualities. So it’s unthinkable to senior leaders to lose budgeting focus (prioritising program work) but we know how important it is to suppport our structure and build around the work we all do. This can mean that it takes a little time to sort through resquests so please be patient.

Whatever you’re chasing, we’ll respond and sort out what you’re looking for.
